DILI, 05 march 2021 (TATOLI)—The Secretariat of State and Cooperative (SEKoop), Instituto de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Emprezarial (IADE) and East Timor Development Agency (ETDA) signed new agreements with the United Nation Development Po gram (UNDP) to support business development in Timor-Leste.
The Cooperative Secretary, Elizário Ferreira said, SEKoop will have direct support on the basic production groups and the youth potentials to develop their businesses.
“ There will be a education training that offers to almost 240 cooperative groups , regarding the cooperative development, promotion of cooperativism to contribute for the nation development,” Elizário Ferreira said on Friday at EDTA hall, Fatuhada Dili.
Director of ETDA, Janúario Neto Mok, said the training to be offered are on the implementation of eco-tourism capacity building activities and the hospitality training with the total fund is $40.000. provided by UNDP.
“The training will be focused on providing the basic English language learning to 60 young adults in the hospitality and eco-tourism areas,” he said.
However, the Director of IADE, Filomeno Marcelino Belo, said The agreement signed with Instituto de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Emprezarial (IADE) to provide a framework for collaboration in training and motivation to the businesses to have well management on their businesses.
At the same time The Representative of The UNDP in Timor-Leste, Munkhtuya Altangerel, said, the fund offered is to help communities with the small scale of businesses to have better developments on their businesses.
“We have provided $1 million and the $500.000 had trasfered to the Timor-Leste State Account via Ministry of Finance. This fund will be used for these programs,” she said.
