DILI, March 10, 2021 (TATOLI) – The Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidélis Magalhães, said on Tuesday that the Council of Ministers amended Government Resolution no. 12/2021, of March 8, regarding the sanitary fence and mandatory confinement in the Municipality of Dili, that in effect from 9 of march until until March 15.
“With regards to this change, it limits the travel, by land, sea or air, into this municipality, except for some reasons of security, public health, humanitarian or other, duly substantiated, which prove necessary for the accomplishment of the public interest and authorized by the Minister of the Interior”, Fidélis Magalhães said after the end of the Council of Ministers meeting, at the Ministry of Finance building, in Aitarak-Laran, Dili.
Magalhãesalso stated that those who are disrespected for the orders and instructions issued by the competent authorities may result, under the Penal Code, in criminal liability for the offender.
At the same time, he also said that the collective passenger transport is suspended. However, for the economy activities, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and the Minister for Tourism, Commerce and Industry will define, through a joint order, which economic activities and services should be closed as well as the operating rules for those that may remain open to the public.
