DÍLI, March 23, 2021 (TATOLI) – CIGC General Staff Coordinator, Commander. Donaciano Costa Gomes Pedro ‘Klamar Fuik’, and The Indonesian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Sahat Sitorus, discussed covid-19 prevention mechanisms, to combat the irregular movement at the borders of the two countries.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC) Building Dili.
Commander Klamar Fuik said, discussed about the irregular entries on the border lines in the Municipalities of Bobonaro and Covalima and in the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA).
“We also talked about the transport of goods and the exchange of drivers at the border post of Batugadé, in the municipality of Bobonaro, and Mota Masin, in the municipality of Covalima,” Klamar Fuik told the journalists at the CIGC, Caicoli, Dili.
Klamar Fuik said the objective of this meeting is to combat the crisis caused by the fresh coronavirus, and at the same time he thanked Ambassador Sahat Sitorus on his commitment in the fight against the spread of covid-19 between the two neighbors.
Ambassador Sahat Sitorus, said that the two countries agree to control the land border as a mechanism to combat covid-19.
Regarding the transport of goods at the borders of Batugadé, in Bobonaro, and Mota Masin, Covalima, Ambassador asked the Timorese Government to set a fixed schedule to help control and develop both countries economy.
