DILI, 26 march 2021 (TATOLI) – The U.S will offer a Cessna aircraft to Timor-Leste in a year of 2022, the U.S Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Charles Kevin Blackstone statement yesterday.
The aircraft’s will be offered to the Falintil-Força Defesa Timor-Leste (F-FDTL) aimed to control the sea.
“The USA will offer a Cessna plane to the Timorese state to monitor the wealth resources in the East Timor sea. In addition, they will build a new fire station,” Ambassador Blackstone said to the journalists after meeting with the Prime Minsiter, Taur Matan Ruak, at the Palacio do Governo.
Mr Blackstone recalls that, in 2018, the Timorese Government requested support from the USA for the rehabilitate of the runway at Baucau Airport. The dialogue, held at the defense level, took place in Hawaii. The request was finally approved by the USA Government.
He also affirmed that the priority of the Timorese Government is concluded the negotiation for the renovation project of Baucau Airport following the document approved in Hawaii.
The ambassador also recalled that the United States plans to provide US $ 10 million to Timor-Leste in the Airport rehabilitation project.
