DILI, April 23, 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste Health authorities register 82 cases of covid-19 and 19 recoveries, bring the total active cases in the country to 925.
Of the total new cases, 72 cases were identified in Dili while 10 from other municipalities.
Regarding active cases in the municipalities, three infections were recorded in Baucau, one in Ermera and Bobonaro, and five in Liquiçá.
According to the Coordinator of COVID-19 Center of Integrated and Management Crisis (CIGC), Rui de Araújo said, between the new cases 50 are male and 32 are female including ten symptomatic and the rests are asymptomatic.
“51 were detected following the requests for authorization to leave the Municipality of Díli”, Rui de Araújo said, in a virtual conference.
Araújo also added that since yesterday the National Laboratory has carried out 950 tests, including 100 were on a contact screening test, 245 random screening, and 44 were on sentinel surveillance, with 481 national traveling authorization while 31 for international travel as well as 49 from quarantine.
Mr. Araújo said, six patients, are in a moderate situation with one patient is in severe condition are still under the Vera Cruz Isolation Center.
“A patient with the severe condition is using the ventilator,”
Concerning the cases detected by the municipality, since the emergence of the new coronavirus, Díli counts on 1006, Baucau 40, Ermera 34, Covalima 46, Viqueque 11, Liquiçá nine, Ainaro 12, Lautém three, Bobonaro ten, Manatuto three, Manufahi 12, two in Aileu and five in the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse and Ambeno (RAEOA).
The country has 1,739 confirmed cases since the emergence of the new coronavirus.
