DILI, 09 may 2021 (TATOLI)- The Covid-19 Crisis Integrated Management Center (CIMC), records one patient died from COVID-19 bringing the total number of covid-19 death in the country to five.
The CIGC Coordinator, Rui de Araújo, revealed that the country recorded the fifth death by covid-19 of a 70-year-old woman who is residing in Dili yesterday.
The patient was transferred to Vera Cruz on May 5, was diagnosed with acute respiratory failure syndrome and severe anemia. She was isolated for two days in Vera Cruz, but the treatment provided for her was according to the medical protocol adopted in the National Hospital Guido Valadares (HNGV). She has resorted to oxygen and blood transfusion.
“The PCR test carried out on May 5 was positive for covid-19. The patient died on May 8. The result of the post-mortem test on covid-19 remains positive. The family decided to bury the deceased in Uatulari [administrative post in Viqueque] following the covid-19 funeral protocol adopted in Timor-Leste, “said Araújo at the press conference.
