DILI, may 10, 2021 (TATOLI) – The Malaysian ambassador to Timor-Leste, Sarimah Akbar, thanked the Timorese Government for the authorization given to several diplomats in Timor-Leste to be vaccinated in the context of the prevention of covid-19.
“I want to thank the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, for his authorization to foreign diplomats to receive the vaccine, including my officials,” said Ambassador Sarimah Akbar, after the meeting with the Prime Minister, Taur Matan, at his residence, at Farol, in Dili.
Ms. Akbar asked the Timorese population to receive the vaccination for the self prevention towards the new coronavirus in Timor-Leste and also for the country to be able to return to normal.
According to Ms. Akbar, this vaccine is very important in preventing covid-19, since covid is considered a dangerous disease.
She recalled that last year, there were not many cases of covid-19 in Malaysia. However, today, the situation in Malaysia is the same as in Timor-Leste.
“The Government of Malaysia has to compel the population to receive this vaccine,” She added.
