Government extend Isolation Zone restriction in Dili, Baucau, Covalima municipalities

DILI, may 26, 2021 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers approved the draft resolutions Government concerning sanitary fences in the municipalities of Baucau, Covalima, Dili, Bobonaro, and Viqueque, as well as mandatory confinement in the capital.

The draft was approved after the coordinators of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (CIGC) presented the status of the covid-19 epidemic in the country.

The Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidélis Magalhães said Government maintains the imposition of sanitary fences in Baucau, Covalima, and Dili until 23:59 on June 1, 2021, and imposes sanitary fences in Bobonaro and Viqueque between 00:00 on May 27, 2021, and 23: 59 on June 1, 2021.

Mr. Magalhães added that the Government maintains to impose mandatory confinement in the Municipality of Dili until 23:59 on June 1, 2021.

The movement of people between the municipalities of Baucau, Bobonaro, Covalima, Dili, and Viqueque and the other administrative districts will be limited, except for essential reasons of public health and safety, humanitarian assistance, maintenance of public supply systems, or carrying out activities of common interest.

According to Mr. Magalhães, Government also imposes general home confinement to all the residents in Dili, except for the reasons already defined, namely for reasons of health, work, and access to essential goods and services.

“There is only one chance, and collective celebrations of a religious nature while other collective cult events are allowed, as long as the people present at the ceremonies maintain a distance of at least one meter apart, wear a face mask that covers the nose, and mouth ”, he said.
