DILI, 27 may 2021 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC) participates in the two-day virtual meeting of the Consultative Council, between 27 and 28 May, in Suai room, at Timor Plaza Shopping Center.
According to the note released by the MNEC, the function of the Consultative Council meeting is to formulate, coordinate, observe and evaluate diplomatic work, both in this country and abroad.
The objective of the Advisory Council forum is also to take stock of the work carried out from 2020 to mid-2021 and also to discuss the priority activities and plans for this year, following Timor-Leste’s external political goals.
“This year, we focus on the plan for the economic recovery of the post-covid-19, in response to the pandemic and the country’s calamity. The three points were scheduled by the Consultative Council for discussion and presentation to the diplomatic representatives of Timor-Leste abroad”, it said.
Timor-Leste will create investment opportunities in the area of economy and trade through bilateral diplomacy to allow the growth of small companies, thus increasing the investment capacity of Timorese entrepreneurs in the country.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adaljiza Magno, and the Vice Minister, Julião da Silva, preside over the Consultative Council meeting, with the participation of the Secretary-General of MNEC, the Coordinator of the Institute for Diplomatic Studies, several general directors, heads mission, inspectors-general, among others.
