Dili, june 1, 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Health Authorities registered 167 cases of Covid-19, 161 in Dili, and 6 in municipalities, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 2630.
The Coordinator of the CIGC, Rui Maria de Araujo said that the six new cases were detected in municipalities, including four in Bobonaro, one in Covalima, and the other one from Viqueque municipality.
He said of the new cases, 109 were men and 58 were women, saying only 10.3 percent show symptoms, while the rest are asymptomatic.
Araujo informed that in the last 24 hours, 163 recovered from the disease.
Araujo added that 33 patients are under the treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center, of the number 18 patients are in moderate conditions, two are in critical conditions while four patients are in critical conditions.
The National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 1413 laboratory tests since yesterday, including 7 Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, 193 via contact tracing, 325 through random screening, 853 were performed following the request for international and national traveling authorization, and 35 in quarantines. In Addition, 494 tests were carried out in the municipalities.
Regarding the evolution of the outbreak in the country, the incidence rate of the Covid-19 is, on average, in the last week, of 12.4 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 39.1, Baucau and Lautem 3.4, and Viqueque 3.2.
Since the start of the pandemic, the country has recorded a total of 7161 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 16 deaths and 4515 recoveries.
At the same time, The CIGC Spokesperson renewed his calls on people to strictly follow heath safety guidelines since the country imposed a lockdown in Dili and other municipalities.
