DILI, 03 june 2021 (TATOLI) – The health authorities on Thursday record 112 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, while 134 recoveries.
The majority of today’s cases were detected in the capital Dili, while 1 case was detected in Ainaro, 1 in Bobonaro, 1 in Covalima, 1 in Manatuto, and 1 in Viqueque municipality.
Of the 112 new cases, 74 were men, while 38 were women, between the age of 12 to 59, including four children under the age of 12 and two elderly men over 60.
The spokesperson of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (CIGC), Rui Maria de Araujo informed that 3.5 percent of today’s cases are symptomatic, while the rest showed no symptoms.
In the last 24 hours, The National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 1257 PCR tests, including 36 sentinel surveillance tests, 48 through contact tracing, 40 via random screening, 780 were performed following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 153 for the international travel authorization, and 100 in quarantines.
About the evolution of the COVID-19 in the country, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 10.4 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 32.7, making it the place with a higher risk of spreading and contracting the coronavirus.
There has been a total of 7422 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 4826 recoveries and 16 deaths according to data of the (CIGC).
The CIGC reiterated its call on communities to strictly obey and practice the health and safety guidance that had been applied since the country imposed lockdown in Dili and other municipalities.
