China aids COVID-19 Sinovac has arrived in Timor-Leste

DILI, 6 june, 2021 (TATOL)- China aids COVID -19 Sinovac 100,000 doses vaccine has arrived in Timor-Leste.

Minister of Health Odete Maria Freitas Belo said had received the China Aids Covid-19 vaccine at the VIP room of the International AirPort Nicolau Lobato Comoro, Dili through the Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste Xiao Jainhou.

“This 100,000 dose of Sinovac Aids vaccine was donated from China to Timor-Leste to combat Covid-19 cases which are increasing day by day in Timor-Leste,” said  Belo in Nicolau Lobato International AirPort Comoro on Saturday.

Belo explained that the Sinovac Vaccine will be prioritized for school children aged 18 years above, all students in all universities in Timor-Leste including lecturers and all teachers nationally with the aim of immediately opening teaching and learning activities process when all students and teachers and educators have been vaccinated.

This vaccine will also be prioritized for Chinese people in Timor-Leste, especially workers in Tibar Harbour.

On this occasion, Belo, on behalf of the Government of Timor-Leste, expressed her deep gratitude to the Chinese Government for donating the Sinovac Vaccine to Timor-Leste and promised to administer the Sinovac vaccine to people who need it, and also thanked the World Food Program (WFP) which transported the Sinovac vaccine 100,000 doses from China to Timor-Leste via Flight My Jet express 9M-NEY.

This agenda was participated by Chinese Ambassador for Timor-Leste Xiao Jainhou, Vice Prime Minister Berta Armanda do Santos, Foreign Minister of Cooperation Adaljiza Magno, representative of World Health Organization (WHO) Arvind Marthur, representative of UNICEF Bilal Aurang Zen Durram,WFP representative Dageng Liu, Director of SAMES and the others.
