DILI, 14 june 2021 (TATOLI)– over 16 young Timorese have been admitted to Chinese Scholarships to study at Chinese University.
The Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Xiao Jianguo said a these Timorese have passed this scholarship a few days ago, the Chinese Embassy has announced its annual winners of China Government scholarship for the coming academic year.
“There are 16 young Timorese who have been admitted to Chinese Universitas,” Mr. Jianguo said.
According to Ambassador, since the scholarships was offered, up to today, it has been benefited 110 Timorese,
” A Chinese Ambassador scholarship program up to now already benefited 110 outstanding college students from low-income families and some of them have now working in the Government Institutions and contribute to the National development of Timor Leste,” Ambassador said.
He explained that these achievements are from the joint efforts by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture, in cooperation with the National University of Timor-Lorosa’e (UNTL).
“On behalf of the China Government, I would like to thank the government of Timor-Leste especially the Miniter of Higher Education Science and Culture his excellency Mr, Longinhos dos Santos and Rector of UNTL João Martins for their Cooperations and I am looking forward to a closed Cooperation with Timor-Leste in the cultural and educational sectors,” he said.
