COVID-19 Update: ICGC records 66 news cases, 145 recoveries and active cases at 1.275

DILI, 16 june 2021 (TATOLI) – The Integrated Crisis Management Center (CIGC), on Wednesday, registered 66 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, with 145 recoveries, and active cases were 1,271.

Of the 66 new cases, 46 were detected in Dili, while the 20 other cases were detected in the municipalities, including 1 in Aileu, 5 in Bobonaro, 10 in Manatuto, and 4 in RAEOA.

Among the new cases, 41 were men and 25 were women. Of the 66 new cases, 63 were between the age of 12 and 59 and a child under the age of 12, and two elderly persons over the age of 60.

The spokesperson of ICGC, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said 7.5 percent of the new cases were symptomatic.

In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (NHL) had performed 1097 PCR tests, including 2 sentinel surveillance tests, 101 through contact tracing, 231 via random screening, 686 were performed following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 42 for the international travel authorization 35 in quarantines.

The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 5.3 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 14.3, and in Baucau 8.0.

Araujo said 27 patients were under treatment at the Vera Cruz Isolation Center, and 1 was in critical condition.

The CIGC kept calling on the communities to strictly obey and practice the health and safety guidance that had been applied since the country imposed lockdown in Dili and other municipalities.

There have been a total of 8478 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 7,184 recoveries, 1,275 active cases, and 19 deaths, according to data of the CIGC.
