DILI, 21 june 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste today, registered 21 new cases of COVID-19, with 38 recoveries, and the active cases were 1.042.
Of the new cases, 8 were detected in capital Dili, while the rest were detected in the municipalities, including 2 in Aileu, 9 in Baucau, 1 each in Bobonaro and RAEOA.
The spokesperson of CIGC, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said that of the 21 new cases, 100 percent were symptomatic.
He said the majority of today’s cases were between the age of 12 and 59, which made up of 14 men and 7 women.
Araujo added 19 patients were under treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center and 2 patients were in critical condition.
In the last 24 hours, The National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 315 PCR tests, including 4 sentinel surveillance tests, 5 through contact tracing, 51 via random screening, 165 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 63 for the international travel authorization and 6 in quarantines.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 4.2 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Baucau municipality 12.1, in Dili 8.5 and Manatuto 6.4.
The CIGC reiterated its call on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus in the country despite the ICGC’s records showing a slight drop in cases over the past week in the capital Dili and some municipalities.
There has been a total of 8.728 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 7.667 recoveries, active cases were 1.042 and 19 deaths, according to data of the CIGC.
