DILI, 23 june 2021 (TATOLI) – Plan International has donated $12.000 USD to the Secretary of State for Civil Protection (SEPC) through National Department of Community Conflict to socialize our communities on how to prevent conflict, revealed Director of Plan International, Liliana Ximenes.
“SEPS has been working together for almost one year and has implemented various programs such as sensibility on conflict prevention in the community, and today we are providing training to 15 members of the Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) on how PNTL members can deal with emotions including child protection and conflict prevention,” Ximenes said at the Immigration Office to Journalist of TATOLI News Agency on wednesday.
She added that this program will be completed by the end of June, because of that Plan International wants this cooperation to be continued, therefore Plan International wants SEPS to immediately submit a new proposal to immediately sign a new program in early July because conflict prevention sensibility to our community is very important.
Plan International is very proud because even though this fund is small and has only been implemented for about 6 months, it has been able to reduce the conflict in Timor-Leste because of that Plan International promises to provide more funding to prevent conflicts that often occur in our communities.
