DILI, 19 july 2021 (TATOLI)- East Timor Development Agency (ETDA) is focused on promoting and developing people’s capacity to bring impact, gain skill and experience for creating job opportunities for others.
Director of the East Timor Development Agency (ETDA), Januario Neto Mok said ETDA has provided training to 27.000 participants in various fields since 2000.
“There are 27.000 people who have attended all the training provided by ETDA, since 2.000 until now, such as Tourism, Business, Languages, Hospitality, Ceramics, Administration, Professional Development, Leadership and Management,” explained Januario to TATOLI Agency, in his office, this Monday.
From each of these trainings, 75% of them have found decent work and most of them have participated in the Australia Seasonal Worker Program.
ETDA was established in Dili in 2.000, with its longstanding commitment to promote and build young people’s capacity and they are able to have life skills for financial improvement. It shows the impact for the unskilled people to gain the skill and jobless people to be employers, even to have permanent income for their family.
ETDA seeks to strengthen the capacity of the Timorese people to earn a living and therefore play an integral, active and coordinated role in nation building.
ETDA is committed to continuing human resource development and delivering a wider range of courses. Since 2002, has provided specialized training for the needs of the government, NGO’s and the private sector. ETDA takes a contemporary approach to training.
It has been provided workshop and session development, and evaluated according to the latest planning teaching theory and practice. This training is accessible to all Timorese. ETDA is unique in the delivery of courses in Tetun, by Timorese trainers with all supporting materials provided in Tetun.
This training is very communicative and interactive. Participants learn through doing and engagement, so all sessions are participant centered. ETDA trainers create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable and respected.
