DILI, 19 august 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s National Defense Force (F-FDTL), today, commemorates its 46th anniversary, by attending a mass at St. Anthony Church, in Motael-Dili.
The 46th Anniversary mass was presided by Father Mario Sousa SDB and Julio Mota SDB to honor the National Heroes and remembering the establishment of the FALINTIL 46 years ago.
More than 200 military personnel attended the anniversary mass, including the Second Commander of the Timorese National Police (PNTL), Matias Fernandes, the F-FDTL’s Infantry Captain, Horacio Batista do Santos, and the Secretary of State for Art and Culture (SEAK), Teófilo Caldas.
“Today’s mass is important for us to honor our National Heroes. After the mass, all of us will be going to attend the wreath-laying ceremony, in the National Heroes Memorial, in Metinaro,” Santos made the comments after the mass at St. Anthony Church, in Dili, today.
Santos thanked the Veterans who attended the 46th anniversary mass of the F-FDTL.
He said this year F-FDTL organized a long FALINTIL tour, known as ‘Dalan Ba Dame’ across the country to commemorate its 46th anniversary.
“At the moment our military are on tour in Manufahi municipality and tomorrow they will be arriving in Dili to celebrate the F-FDTL anniversary,” said Santos.
The official ceremony of the 46th anniversary will be held at F-FDTL Headquarters, in Dili, on august 20.
