DILI, 19 august, 2021 (TATOLI)- Timorese Youth Parliament offers a leadership training program for 132 juveniles from 12 municipalities to promote their leadership ability.
The one-week training program is promoting leadership on two thematic activities on public speaking and technical debate.
During the training, the participants are required to make presentations when visiting the communities, data gathering, group discussions, organizing the plenary, and debating.
“This training can help young Timorese to have basic skills on promoting effectiveness and efficacy during the training period for leadership,” The President of the event organizer, Cesário Gonçalves told TATOLI in Maloa.
He added this program will help a young Timorese to be actively focused on developing and demonstrating good performance through behavior and metal on leading any activity.
A good leader should have communication capacity, capacity for problem-solving and It is also to ensure responsibility, transparency, effective and efficacy to focus on good governance.
“They have to learn more to become a leader with responsibility,” Mr. Gonçalves said.
This program is to help young Timorese people age 12 to 17 years old to demonstrate leadership sense and gain professional experience to lead a group or in a village.
These candidates/participants were selected based on their public speaking performance, ages 12-17, selected from an open selection from village to sub-district level, they are from 13 municipalities including RAEOA.
Normally the young Timorese Parliament has three years mandate, and now it is in the 4 periods.
