Dili, 08 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The Governments of Timor-Leste (TL) and Brunei Darussalam will sign a cooperation agreement in the field of aviation shortly.
Following the agreement, The Council of Ministers has given the authority to the Minister of Transport and Communication (MTC), José Agustino da Silva representing Timor-Leste to sign the agreement Aero service agreement.
“With this new agreement, it is possible to establish the connectivity on commercial flights between two countries,” said President for the Council of Minister, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhaes at the Ministry of Finance, Aitarak – Laran today.
Magalhaes added that this agreement is also a sign with the purpose to facilitate good relations between the two countries and its possible for the Royal Brunei aircraft to make the operation between Brunei Darussalam – Dili and Dili – Brunei Darussalam.
Government Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adaljiza Magno, and the Ambassador of Australia to Timor-Leste, Peter Roberts has exchanged the Diplomatic Notes on Air Service agreement which was signed on May 26, 2017, allowing for the monitoring of the country’s airspace that is expected to have a frequency of 21 flights per week.
