Govt approves subsidized food program for public officials

DILI, 20 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers approved the draft of Decree-Law on Subsidized Food Program for public officials, presented by the Minister of Finance, Rui Augusto Gomes.

The Subsidized Food Program aims to reduce expenses and food acquisition of public officials.

The government will purchase the local food through the Subsidized Food Program to promote and increase the production of locally grown food.

Based on the decree-law, every month, a public official would receive 35 kg of rice, five kg of corn, five kg of the bean, five kg of mung bean, and two kg of soya bean.

These food items would deliver to the public officials every three months, said in a statement.
