DILI, 28 september 2021 ( TATOLI)– The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Timor Leste Andrew Jacobs, said the meeting with the State Secretary for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE) Alarico do Rosario is to discuss the future cooperation of agriculture on the project of Ai ba Futuru.
“We will work together to give the professional training to the youths and farmers in rural areas on how to plant the potential tree through the project of “AI ba Futuru” to recover the economic growth in the future,” Ambassador Andrew Jacobs told reporters in SEFOPE ‘s office, Caikoli today.
Jacob explained EU wishes to implement the project of Ai ba across municipalities, thus the EU awaits the data recorded of farmers from SEPFOPE in the remotes area to facilitate them about how to plant the potential tree in their land to diversify the economic sustainability in Timor – Leste.
In the same place, State Secretary for Vocational Training and Employment Alarico do Rosario, said today’s meeting is about the future cooperation between both parties in the scope of agriculture.
“We have agreed to continue this cooperation, therefore SEFOPE will identify the groups of farmers in rural areas to EU to participate in the professional training,” he said.
The trees that will be planted by the farmers in the project Ai ba Futuru, including sandalwood, teak tree, coffee tree, and others that have advantages for the development of the economy.
