DILI, 29 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The Government of Timor-Leste, through the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTK) will sign an air transport agreement with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Qatar.
Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães informed that the agreement would improve air connectivity between Timor-Leste and other countries.
“This agreement will allow us to create the conditions for the operation and networks of Timor-Leste’s air services and increasing the number of destinations,” Magalhães told reporters after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, at the Palace of the Government, in Dili, on Wednesday.
The Council of Ministers granted full powers to the Minister of Transport and Communications, José Agustinho da Silva to sign the air services agreement with UAE and Qatar.
Previously, the Council of Ministers also granted full powers to Minister Silva to sign the air service agreement with Brunei Darussalam with the aim to establish a direct flight between Brunei Darussalam and Timor-Leste.
