CMoEA inaugurates new members of NCL and LAC

DILI, 11 october 2021 (TATOLI) – Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs (CMoEA), Joaquim Amaral has inaugurated the nine new members of the National Council of Labor (NCL) and three new members of Labor Arbitration Council (LAC), with a call on the new members to employ appropriate strategies to improve the working conditions in the country.

“We need new energy to help the government to improve the working conditions as well as a working environment. Such as labor law, safe and healthy workplace, and so on,” Amaral told reporters after the inauguration ceremony at the Secretary of State for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE), in Dili, on monday.

He said the new leader and new members of the NCL and LAC will bring new strategies to find solutions for labor and employment issues in the country.

“CMoEA had been committed to drafting the legal framework to regulate the labor relations between the employers and workers. So that they know their right and roles in a work environment,” he said.

The current State Secretary for Vocational Training (SEFOPE), as the newly elected President of the NCL Alarico de Rosario, said that he would cooperate with relevant entities to ensure and promote social dialogue, labor dispute settlement, and etc.

The new members of the National Council of Labor (NCL) included the current State Secretary for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE), Alarico de Rosário was elected as the new President of CNE, Angelo dos Santos Veloso as the Vice President, and Rofino L. dos Reis, Horguilina F. Alves, Norberto Josen, Alemeiro J. V. N. Gouveia, and Antonio da Costa as the new members.

While, the new members of the National Council of Labor (NCL were made up of three members, including Geraldo Moniz as the new President, Etelvina Sarmento as the Vice President, and Julio Fernandes as the member.
