Covid-19 Update: TL records 6 new cases, 26 recoveries

DILI, 14 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded six new COVID-19 cases, 26 recoveries, and the active cases dropped to 111, said Rui Maria de Araujo, the Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK).

According to today’s figure, four new cases were detected in Dili, and two in Bobonaro.

Araujo said 17 percent of the new case had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. These six new cases include three men and three women.

All of the new cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, adding 16.7 percent were symptomatic.

There are 14 people with COVID-19 in hospital and three of those are in critical condition, with a patient on a ventilator.

In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 130 PCR tests, including seven via sentinel surveillance,  10 through random screening, 72 for the international travel authorization, and 41 in quarantines.

The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.

Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.694 cases, 19.464 recoveries, and 119 deaths.

In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 66.2 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 42.2 percent have been fully vaccinated.
