DILI, 25 october 2021 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) had planned to sensitize parents of school children on the Covid-19 Pfizer vaccination campaign for children aged 12 and 17 years.

“Definitely, next week, a team of MoEYS will go to municipalities, including Dili to sensitize the communities, particularly the parents of the school children regarding the Pfizer vaccination campaign,” Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Armindo Maia told reporters, at the MoEYS office, in Dili, on monday.

He said sensitizing communities about the importance of the Pfizer vaccination campaign was important to ensure parents understand the letters of consent that they will sign to permit their children to be vaccinated.

Last week, Timor-Leste received a total of 100,620 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines donated by the United States.

The vaccines will protect nearly 48.000 school children in Timor-Leste against the worst effects of COVID-19.
