DILI, 26 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded four new COVID-19 cases, four recoveries, and the active cases were 52, said Rui Maria de Araujo Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK).
According to today’s figure, all of the four cases were detected in capital Dili and all were unvaccinated.
He said these new cases are made up of three men and one woman, adding 50 percent were symptomatic.
Araujo said two of the newly detected cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, including two cases under 20.
There are five people with COVID-19 in the hospital, one of those is in critical condition and requires ventilation.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 143 PCR tests, including 79 via random screening, 60 for the international travel authorization, and four in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.778 cases, 18.605 recoveries, 121 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 71.5 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 46.5 percent have been fully vaccinated.
