Lush England awarded 34.000 USD to PERMATIL

DILI, 26 October 2021 (TATOLI)- Lush Non-Government Organization (NGO) from England, awarded 34.000 USD or (25.000-pound sterling), to PERMATIL NGO nominated on Spring Prize.

According to The Executive Director of PERMATIL, Ego Lemos PERMATIL was nominated for the Lush Spring Prize on October 23 this year for its four essential programs that contribute to life prevention from the impact of climate change.

the four programs/activities are:

  1. Water conservation; for this program Permatil is working on efforts to ensure water accessibility and not contribute to the long dry season.
  2. The School garden program is in coordination with the Minister of Education youth and sport (MoEYS). PERMATIL has been established 254 Gardens even still considered on 25% of high schools across Timor-Leste. This program is aimed to educate students and the teacher even parents to enhance comprehension of accessing nutritive meals and through this program, the beneficiaries can discover new science on the program implementation.
  3. In the action program of Pre-culture, this program is offered the capacity building for 5200 young people and provided increase the Farmer’s knowledge on water conservation to cultivate green vegetables. This program is implemented since 2018 and AFRICA has imitated this water conservation.
  4. PERMATIL has successfully produced the Tropical Permaculture Guide Books, it is interesting and benefited 174 countries and 100.000 pages have been printed out.

These 4 programs are considered as the parameter to fulfill the criteria and allow PERMATIL won the lush spring Prize.

Mr. Lemos said, PERMATIL is nominated and deserved the award of lush spring prize following the four vital programs that the organization has implemented and inspire many countries. 

“The amount of money obtained from the lush spring prize will be used to establish PERMATIL pre-permaculture training center and offering young people the opportunity to enhance their skills,” Lemos said.

Lemos added that The PERMATIL Will be having a consultation with the local authority to ensure the training center establish close to DILI.

According to Lemos, this program is offered to 90% of people under age under 35 years old. It has main proposed to create productive and multi-skill people. This program also provided to the local authority comprising of the chief of the village and other relevant local authorities.

At the same place he explained, PERMATIL has helped people to promote the substantial program, guarantee the production of organic fertilizer and water conservation by building a dam to support farmers working in the farms and water can be accessed by human beings and animals.

Mr. Lemos calls to all young people across the country to promote their skills through attending capacity Building provided by PERMATIL to gain the experience and contribute to sustainability income.
