MJ sends a team for the extension of Timorese overseas passport

DILI, 15 november 2021 ( TATOLI) – The overseas passport renewal registration team today departed to three countries to extend the Timorese passport overseas.

The Director-General of Notary Registration and Crime, Victor da Costa Neto informed that today the team from the Ministry of Justice (MJ) depart to 3 countries to extend the passports of Timorese which had expired during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The second phase of passport renewal is resumed due to many Timorese citizens overseas had not been renewed their passport, therefore the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC) and the Ministry of Justice of Timor-Leste (MJTL) decided to extend the renewal of the passport,” Neto told TATOLI in the office of Notary Registration and Crime, Mandarin Dili, today.

However, Neto added that the first period of the passport renewal was finished two months ago, in the three countries, Portugal, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, for this

“The second phase of passport extension will take place during 20 days in three countries, such as the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Northern Ireland,” he said.

The MJ overseas team is composed of 8 persons, they will travel to the three countries to extend the passports for 20 days. 

“All the data reports regarding the overseas passport extensions will be published to the public after the second phase of passport extension is completed,” he added.
