DILI,18 november 2021 (TATOLI)-The Secretary of State for Youth and Sport (SSYS) and the Ministry of State Administration (MSA) sign an Agreement of the Delegation Competency to implement the sports program activities in all municipalities across Timor – Leste.
The Minister of MSA, Miguel Carvalho Pereira said the signing of the Agreement on the Delegation of Competency was carried out based on Decree-Law 3/2016, 16/03, Statute of Municipal Administration and Authorities to give full powers to the President of Authorities of Municipality (PAM) to cooperate with SSYS in developing the modality of sport which is owned by the youth in Timor – Leste.
“To develop sports modalities in each municipality, SSYS needs to work together with the PAM and other local leaders to implement sports modalities in each municipality across the Timor-Leste,” Minister Pereira told reporters in the MSA’s office, Kaikoli Dili, today.
At the same place the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Abrao Saldanha “Nokosiku reported that SSYS has many activities of the sport’s program and will develop the youth’s talents in Timor – Leste, saying SSYS will cooperate with MSA and get the approval from PAM before implementing these program.
“The signing of this Agreement aimed to work together with MSA and PAM to develop the sports activities which are owned by the youths of Timor – Leste and then they will compete for national sport and international sports,” said Nokosiku.
Nokosiku explained that the sports modalities that will be implemented in the municipalities are football, volleyball, basketball, martial arts, and other related sport in Timor – Leste.
“We will bring the youth from municipalities to come closer together through sport ‘ s programs, but to implement the program, SSYS will build the infrastructure such as fields and will buy the equipment of sport in 2022 before the sports modalities are implemented in municipalities across Timor – Leste.”
