DILI, 18 november 2021 (TATOLI)- The National Village Development Program (NVDP) has built 1,192 houses “Uma Kbi’it La’ek” for vulnerable people in remote areas across 13 municipalities.
The Director of the NVDP Technical Secretariat, Claudinha Soares Pinto said the construction of the houses will reach a total of 1,254 houses, but PNDS has only completed 96% of them and the remaining is 62, due to the pandemic.
“The total of vulnerable people has been selected to own the houses is 1,254 however 1,192 houses have been finished and will be waiting for the 62 to be finished,” explained Claudinha to Tatoli, Thursday.
Cauldinha said the 62 houses that have not yet been completed were the majority in Oe-Cusse RAEOA and the other municipality.
“In the RAEOA, there are 34 houses are in the process of construction, It is expected that the houses will be finished in the next two weeks,” She explained.
According to Claudinha the remaining houses are still under construction and it takes time due to the road conditions, therefore NVDP is requested assistance from the IGE (Institution of Controlling the Equipment) to help provide roads alternative to reach the villages.
She said the other completed houses were handed over to the vulnerable people in municipalities of Manufahi Same, Aileu, Liquiça, Ermera, and in Dili.
