DILI, december 3, 2021 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo, and the Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Xiao Jianguo, discuss future cooperation in education, health, and agriculture.
During the meeting, the Chinese ambassador reported to the President of the Republic regarding the cooperation that had been officially established by both countries.
“Going forward, China will prioritize assistance to vulnerable groups and will continue to assist the defense and security, agriculture, health, and infrastructure sectors,” Xiao Jianguo said, in a statement accessed by Tatoli.
The Ambassador also revealed that the Chinese Executive proposed the possibility of administering more Sinovac vaccines to Timor-Leste.
It should be remembered that the Chinese Government provided, on June 5, 100,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine.
Xiao Jianguo also delivered a congratulatory message from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Lú Olo.
The President of the Republic expressed his gratitude for the assistance that the Chinese Government has provided in Timor-Leste, especially during difficult times such as the sanitation crisis due to COVID-19 and the floods last April.
“As the President of the Republic, I would like to thank you for the assistance provided by the Chinese Executive to the country during the floods and the covid-19 pandemic. The citizens of Timor Leste received the covid-19 vaccine thanks to assistance from several countries including China. Keep repeating this difference”, he said
