DILI, 07 december 2021 (TATOLI) – The National Parliament approved the proposed budget for the 2022 Fiscal Year of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Social Communication (MAPCOMS), totaling, nine million, with 42 votes in favor, two against, and 17 abstentions.
“The budget proposal of MAPCOMS for its 2022 Fiscal Year has been approved in the specialty,” President of the National Parliament, Aniceto Guterres, announced at National Parliament, on tuesday.
More than US$942.000 will be allocated for wages and salaries, US$3.5 million for goods and services, US$115.000 for minor capital, US$2 million for development capital, and US$2.5 million for public transfers.
The approved budget would fund two programs, four sub-programs, and 20 activities.
MAPCOMS will also allocate US$6.3 million for freedom of expression and information access programs as well as US$2.7 million for good governance and institutional management.
MAPCOMS is responsible for the execution, coordination, and evaluation of policies, defined and approved by the Council of Ministers, in the area of Media and Parliamentary Affairs.
