DILI, 21 december 2021 ( TATOLI) – ASSA Foundation (AF) Executive Director, Bendito Kay Assa Soares informed that ASSA Foundation has been working closely with the National Hospital of Guido Valadares (HNGV) for one year in providing ‘English Health Courses for medical personnel at HNGV.
According to Bendito Kay Assa Soares, ASSA Foundation was founded in 2020 with an educational mission in the field of English for the specific purpose (ESP), thus their mission is to provide English for certain courses.
“Our mission is to provide English Language Courses for participants from the specific area or certain courses, with our ESP program we have been trusted by the National Hospital of Guido Valadare (HNGV) to offer courses to medical staff to understand English terminology in the health secto ,” Soares told Tatoli at HNGV.
Another goal of providing English language courses to medical staff is to develop their English speaking and communication skills in communicating with foreign patients.
“English for Health helps medical personnel to create effective communication with foreign patients and provide services to foreign patients, as well as helping them to have the opportunity to attend international seminars and the opportunity to continue their studies abroad,”
Soares added that so far the ASSA Foundation has produced 30 medical personnel from all hospitals in the municipality of Dili and this program will be implemented in all referral hospitals in Timor – Leste.
