ATR-TL to research tourist attractions in three municipalities and RAEOA with US$12.000

DILI, 09 january 2022 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Religious Tourism Association (ATR-TL) allocates US$12.000 for research a program on tourist attractions in the mTunicipalities of Ainaro, Ermera, Manatuto, and in the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA).

According to the President of ATR-TL, Father Ângelo Salsinha said the US$12.000 budget was part of the financial support ATR-TL received from Civil Society results from the fact that the association received US$110.000 from the Civil Society Office of the Prime Minister, 40% of which was allocated to the good governance of ATR-TL.

“This association uses US$12.000 to research tourist attractions in the municipalities. A team of 25 people from various religions in the country involved directly in the research program: Catholic, Hindu, Muslim, Protestant, and Confucian,” he told TATOLI in Dili.

He said these municipalities have numerous tourist attractions that need to be identified.

“The research aims to know the nature, history, and pilgrimage, across these municipalities,” he said.

The association will also provide training on language and history to young people.

“These young people will come from the tourist attraction site in each municipality and the training has been set to begin at the end of February this year,” he added.

The research will take place between the 12th and 14th of january, as the team has already had the training to conduct the research.

ATR-TL was officially launched on october 12 of last year.
