DILI, 20 january 2021 (TATOLI)- The European Union (EU) and Technical Secretariat of Electoral Administration (STAE), on behalf of the election, have collaborated to publicize the information process regarding the presidential election globally.
“EU is committed to work together with STAE in the sector of information publication regarding the election process of the President of the Republic of Timor – Leste which will be held on 19 march 2022 globally with the aim that the international world can access based on democratic values and transparency,” National Director of the STAE, Acilino Manuel Branco told Tatoli at the office of STAE, Kaikoli, Dili on wednesday.
Branco explained that the EU in Timor – Leste will publish the campaign process on 02/03/2022 to 16/03/2022 during 14 days which is done by the candidates of President of the Republic based on the article 27 of electoral ‘s regulation till to the process of counting the vote on 19/03/ 2022 base on the electoral ‘s regulation article 44 no 1.
“We are proud because every election process is always accessed by the international community, most countries in the world access the information about the presidential election process of the Republic of Timor – Leste because the EU has promoted STAE ‘s information through the EU channel in the international world,” Branco said.
Branco added that the EU in Timor – Leste has also committed to support the posters, banner advertisements, on radio, television, newspapers, online media regarding to the election of the President of the Republic to be distributed to the public in order that the electors can be accessing the accurate information to participate on the Presidential election of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste maximally.
STAE is a government organ that organizes every general election in Timor – Leste and is committed to work together with international organizations to ensure the election which is qualified, transparent and democratic through the international network publications in the world.
“The EU in Timor – Leste has trusted STAE because STAE is able to organize every election in a democratic way and transparent manner”.
He emphasized: “The EU in Timor – Leste always works together in publicizing the Timor – Leste‘s general election process in the international world so that, Timor – Leste can organize the general elections based on the international principles. Therefore, on behalf of the Government of Timor-Leste i thanked the EU in Timor – Leste for supporting STAE in every General Election in Timor – Leste’’.
