DILI, 28 february 2022 (TATOLI) – The Eminent person of fragile countries or post-conflict countries g7+, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão appealed to all leaders worldwide to promote constructive and open dialogue to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The The General-Secretary of g7+, Helder da Costa informed that Xanana Gusmão is an Eminent Person of the g7+ and has already addressed a letter to the international community regarding the situation in Ukraine.

“A letter that was sent by Xanana Gusmão to the international community is a way of calling attention to respect the peoples in Ukraine and asking Russia not to make an illegal invasion for Ukraine,” Secretary General told reporters at the Residence of Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak in Fárol-Díli, this monday.
Xanana Gusmão wrote this letter as an Eminent person of the g7+ who loves peace, so he directly wrote a letter to the international community and this letter was also given to the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak.
“The letter that Xanana made showing his concern as we are human in the world looks at the invasion that has taken place illegally,” he added.
Declaration letter on Ukraine
Fragile countries, in the period of conflict and post-conflicts haunted in the g7+ were very sorry about the event in Ukraine.

“We are following the development of this tragic event. We see that the community and world leaders, instead of making efforts to promote constructive dialogue, show military preparations for wars,” the letter said.
The letter from the g7+ Eminent Person added: “We condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This invasion reminds us of the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003.
g7+ noted that western countries sold weapons to underdeveloped countries which resulted in many innocent children dying in places like Yemen and others.
“We always declare that millions of refugees in Europe are the result of conflicts promoted by Western countries to underdeveloped countries,” the letter stated.
After obtaining permanent observer status at the United Nations, we support the UN Secretary General’s call for an immediate cessation of fire in Ukraine.
To the 20 fragile and conflict-affected and post-conflict countries, we look on with great sadness but with the hope that world leaders will be able to take lessons to change their policies on underdeveloped countries.
“We call for open and constructive dialogue to eliminate the suffering affected by the Ukrainian people. World leaders must put aside their strategic and hegemonic interests and give opportunities for peace and promote the interests of peoples who are suffering”.
Therefore, g7+ is intended to be the voice of the voiceless. Therefore, we want to make this declaration with great confidence that our voice will be heard.
