Jobs Global Qatar Agency demands recruitment of 2,000 skillful Timorese workers to work in UEA

DILI, 04 march 2022 (TATOLI) – Jobs Global Qatar demands on recruitment of 2,000 Timorese professionals to work in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, said National Authority General Coordinator for Expo Dubai in Timor-Leste (ANED-TL), Manuel Vong.

“Cammer PC travel agency is working with Qatar’s Jobs Global to recruit young Timorese to work in Qatar and Dubai,” the official told TATOLI at his office in Campo Alor, Dili.

According to Manuel Vong, this cooperation in the labor market was made possible thanks to four Timor-Leste points of sale at Expo Dubai 2020, namely tourism and hotels, agriculture and fisheries, connectivity, logistics and transportation, oil, gas, and minerals.

He added the first recruitment process will provide 300 to 600 workers and they are considered sessional workers.

“I hope that the inter-ministerial of government and the private sector can cooperate with the counterpart Group to facilitate the youth of Timor-Leste to take advantage of this opportunity not only to work but also to learn new things to contribute to national development,” he stressed.

The representative of the Cammer PC travel agency, Joanico Jerónimo, said his agency and Jobs Global had signed an agreement to send Timorese seasonal workers to Qatar and Dubai for two years.

“In the first phase, we recruited only three hundred people to work in airports and hotels and other priority sectors,” said Joanico Jerónimo, together with company director, Rui Pires, and lawyer Pedro Aparício, at the end of a meeting with the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, in Farol, Dili.

Joanico Jerónimo stressed that the requirements for recruitment were English language skills, good health, and physical condition.

In addition, candidates will conduct interviews via the zoom platform with teams from Qatar and Timor-Leste.

The representative explained that the return ticket is the responsibility of the agent and workers using Timor-Leste passports.

Also, the Director of the Cammer PC travel agency, Rui Pires, informed that the purpose of the meeting with the Head of the Timorese Government was to ask the government to facilitate the document processing process so that the agency could bring Timorese youth to work abroad.

Since the establishment of this body on january 14, 2020, it has facilitated four thousand Timorese to work in the UK and Ireland.
