DILI, 21 april, 2022 (TATOLI)– Independence Leader and Nobel laureate, José Ramos Horta, said that as the candidate who obtained the highest votes in the 2022 presidential election,he had received congratulatory messages from world leaders congratulating him on his election victory.
“I received a special congratulatory message via WhatsApp, from world leaders who congratulated me on winning this election for the period 2022 to 2027, including Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Kin-Moon.” José Ramos Horta told reporters in Hudi laran, Thursday.
According to Horta, the messages he received is from the leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Europe, France, Portugal, Africa, Nigeria, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Nepal, and others.
However, Horta emphasized that these messages were personal messages from the leaders, since the official announcement of the election results had not been announced by the country’s State Electoral Administration (STAE).
“We are waiting for the official announcement of the election result. the result will be approved in the court of appeal and officially announced by the General Elections Commission,” Horta said
