DILI, 27 april 2022 (TATOLI) – Newly elected President José Ramos Horta discusses future cooperation with the Justice and Peace Commission (JPC) of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Díli.
Ramos Horta stressed that the JPC will become a partner of the President of the Republic on justice, human and social rights, education, and national development.
At the meeting, Horta highlighted the importance of the JPC in strengthening democracy and national unity and contributing to good governance in the future.
The Spokesperson of the Timorese Episcopal Conference (TEC), Father Júlio Crispim thanked Ramos Horta for his visit.
“During the meeting, we ask Ramos Horta to carry out his job as the President of the Republic responsibly. We want him to be the Head of State for all Timorese people to promote a national dialogue that could bring solutions for some of the problems facing the country,” he added.
