At the same time, The deputy of the National Congress for the Reconstruction of Timor-Leste (CNRT), Adérito Hugo, extends his appreciation for the assistance that the European Union has provided to Timor-Leste and congratulates the EU on the celebration of EU day.
“On behalf of the Timorese people, we would like to congratulate and express our appreciation to the European Union that has provided concrete assistance to the country’s development process and the well-being of our citizens”, he said.
Mr. Hugo also stressed “the existence of the European Union as a model that guides us to serve the country in terms of economic development and democracy”.
Hugo said the European Union assisted the Timorese government in financial reform, justice, legislation, good governance, creation of courts of accounts, PCIC, PNTL, and others for 20 years.
