DILI, 28 may 2022 (TATOLI) – The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Timor – Leste, Andrew Jacobs, informed us that the EU will continue to prioritize Timor – Leste‘s economic diversification in the next five years.
“Eu in Timor – Leste will continue to work on supporting private sector development, supporting economic development diversification, working on-location training, and also help to develop the green economy to diversify economic of Timor – Leste during five years coming,’’ Ambassador EU, Andrew Jacobs, told TATOLI on Europe Day at Timor – Plaza, Dili on saturday.
Ambassador Andrew Jacobs added that the EU will continue to support the government of Timor – Leste in the five years coming for the prosperity of the country.
“We will continue to support improving governance working on public finance management and also to improve the nutrition, agroforestry, and committed to continue to support the Government ‘s priority such as education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, good governance and the relevant program to diversify the Timorese people ‘s economic in Timor – Leste,’’ he said.
EU in Timor – Leste will also, wishes to support the Government of Timor – Leste, to overcome the global crises such as the rising price of basic food and rising fuel price because of the war in Russia and Ukraine.
“We are all working together to try to encourage to stopping Russia and Ukraine ‘s war which had affected many people of Ukraine suffering of food, homeless and dies, Europe Union thanked the Government of Timor – Leste is extremely supportive of the international community to condemn Russia to stop the war in Ukraine,’ he stressed.
Mr. Jacob emphasized that the European Union has a long-standing partnership with Timor – Leste based on the shared values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
