DILI, 6 June 2022 (TATOLI)– Timor-Leste’s National Leader Xanana Gusmão appreciated the visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi to Timor-Leste, which was aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries China and Timor-Leste.
At the meeting held on Saturday, Gusmão thanked China for providing support to Timor-Leste for 20 years.
“Special thanks to China for the personal protective equipment (PPE) and other health support that has been given to Timor-Leste during the period of the critical situation of Covid-19,”
China and TL have fully respected the country’s principles and continued commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries in the future.
During the meeting, National Leader Xanana Gusmão and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi symbolically exchanged gifts in appreciation to celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
During the 24-hour visit, Minister Wang Yi stayed in Dili. He held an official meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Timor-Leste (MNEC), Adaljiza Magno and The two leaders witnessed an agreement on cooperation between the two countries in four fields, including aviation, and agriculture, health, and media.
The meeting was also attended by Timor-Leste’s former deputy foreign minister, Roberto Soares at Licidere Dili.
