DILI, 08 june 2022 (TATOLI) – The Ambassador of the Royal Thai Embassy in Timor – Leste, Ekapol Poolpipat said that the Tibar Port is one of the strategic infrastructures to attract international investors including Thai investors to invest in Timor – Leste.
“I have been informed by the government of Timor – Leste, that the construction of the Tibar Bay Port will be completed in October this year, this project is one of the strategic infrastructures to attract international investors including Thai investors to invest in Timor – Leste,” The Thai Ambassador to Timor – Leste, Ekapol Poolpipat to TATOLI after meeting with The Development Partner at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Pantai Kelapa, this Wednesday.
The Ambassador emphasized that Thailand has different large companies including fishing companies, agricultural companies, and other industrial companies, so the construction of the new port will facilitate the transportation of goods from these companiest to Timor-Leste.
“I will work with the Thai government to make connectivity with investors in Thailand to invest in Timor-Leste, especially in the fisheries, agricultural, and trade industries, this is also to help develop Timor-Leste’s economic diversification,” he said.
Previously in 2021, the Government of Timor Leste had collaborated with the Government of Thailand to export more than 100 tons of konjac to Thailand.
