DILI, 09 july 2022 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic Jose Ramos Horta extends condolence over the death of Japan’s former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
In a statement released on friday, President Horta said the former PM of Japan, Shinzo Abe, the longest-serving PM, died of barbarous assassination.
Abe served four times as Prime Minister of Japan. People again elected him in 2017. He is the son of Shintaro Abe and Yoko Abe. His siblings include Hironobu Abe and Nobuo Kishi. He is married to Akie Matsuzaki.
“As a friend of Japan, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Akie Matsuzaki and other family members and friends,” Horta said.
Shinzo Abe was born on september 09, 1954, in Tokyo, Japan. He completed his studies at Seikei University and the University of Southern California.
“I met the late PM Abe in Tokyo in 2014 when as Chair of the High-Level Independent Panel on UN Peace Operations I visited Japan to hear the views of the Japanese Govt and think tanks on Japan’s contribution to UN Peace Operations,” said Horta.
Shinzo Abe, 67, dies after being shot while giving a speech during a political campaign two days ahead of a national election.
Kyodo News reported that Japan’s longest-serving leader was shot by a 41-year-old man from behind at around 11:30 a.m. when he was speaking in front of Kintetsu Railway’s Yamato-Saidaiji Station.
Kyodo News said Abe was rushed to the Nara Medical University Hospital and pronounced dead at 5:03 pm.
