DILI, 12 july 2022 (TATOLI) – The National Parliament has today unanimously approved the trip of the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, to Indonesia between 18 and 24 july.
The Head of State was invited by his Indonesian counterpart, Joko Widodo, to visit Indonesia.
“The MPs approved the visit of the Head of State to Indonesia, as it is a trip of national interest and not for the interest of a particular group or a party,” said the Speaker of the National Parliament, Aniceto Guterres, today.
After voting in favor of the visit of the President to Indonesia, the President of the FRETILIN party, David Mandati said it is important “to set aside the interests of the political party and place the interest of the nation above any other considerations.”
The Vice President of CNRT, Patrocínio Fernandes considered the Unanimous Approval of Horta’s visit to Indonesia as a good move toward political stability.
