MTCI: 100 business groups to participate in the sunset exhibition

DILI, 11 august 2022 (TATOLI) – National Director of Entrepreneurship of the Minister of Trade and Industry, Julio Ximenes Ribeiro, said 100 business groups will take part in the sunset exhibition to promote gastronomy and artistic creativity.

This exhibition was organized by MTCI for two months in Cristo Rei Dili.

Julio Ximenes Ribeiro said the exhibition, which will be launched by MTCI, will enable young business groups who have the desire to promote food gastronomy, art, and other products.

“We will launch this exhibition event tomorrow at 6 am in the Cristo Rei area. This opportunity is given to young people who have creative and innovative ideas to develop their abilities,” Julio Ximenes Ribeiro told reporters at CCD, Caicoli, this Thursday.

Ximenes said this activity is part of the MTCI program to promote and develop the skills of business groups in the fields of gastronomy and the arts at the same time help business groups earn income to further develop their businesses.

Former National Director of MTCI, Ernestina Lopes said that all participants must prioritize hygiene, by ensuring clean and healthy food for visitors to consume.

“We have to make sure all food and drinks are clean and healthy for visitors to consume while we also have to manage all waste to ensure a clean environment,”

The female entrepreneur in charge of the Bidau group, Fransisca Carlota Barreto, appreciated the Government’s MTCI for the opportunity offered to her group to participate in the exhibition: “We will cook delicious seafood and hope that visitors will visit our booth to test our food, and support our income.”

Meanwhile, The Operational Commander of Dili Municipal, Inspector, Delfin Da Silva stressed that the PNTL would be responsible for security at the exhibition site.

“We will require all visitors to follow the rules and instructions from the Police. All drivers must bring with them the transport documents and a driver’s license, PNTL will arrange transport movement on the main road, PNTL will not allow crime to occur during the exhibition, and zero tolerance will be applied to anyone who commits a crime,” said Silva.

This exhibition will be attended by 21 local restaurants, 46 street vendors, and 26 young creative groups.

The exhibition was funded by MTCI in the total amount of 40,000 USD for three months starting from august 12, 2022 to October 12, 2022.
