DILI, 13, september 2022 (TATOLI) – The Country Manager of a privately owned Australian oil and gas company, Timor Resources, Filomeno Andrade said the result of laboratory testing of samples taken from Feto-Kmaus and Liu-Rai wells showed positive results.
According to the result of the recent Laboratory Testing, the two fields show positive results.
“Timor Resources will continue both vertical and horizontal drilling to find oil and natural gas deep underground,” Andrade said.
He said in fact the natural pressure forces the oil through the fractured rocks and up the well to the surface.
“I would therefore like to reiterate that both fields show positive results and we will hand over the test results to the National Petroleum and Minerals Authority (ANPM) to be publicly announced in the near future,” Andrade said.
Besides the drilling of the Feto-Kmaus and Liu-Rai fields, Timor Resources has planned to start the drilling of another field in the Foho Ailiko village of the Ainaro Municipality in the coming weeks.
“So, we are pleased with the outcome of the current test result. It gives us the courage to continue the onshore exploration of oil and gas in the remaining fields,” he said.
He said Timor-Leste would receive more than 20 million barrels of oil from the two onshore wells.
To date, Timor Resources had spent almost US$48 million on onshore oil and gas exploration activities in Timor-Leste.
