DILI, 16 september 2022 (TATOLI)- Minister of Tourism, Trade, and Industry (MTCI), José Lucas do Carmo da Silva participates in the 54th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM) Relevant Meeting taking place at Sokha Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The Minister of Tourism, Trade, and Industry was invited as the chairman’s guest to participate in the opening ceremony,” said in a statement issued on thursday.
On October 28, 2021, Cambodia was honored to take on an important role as Chair of ASEAN for the third time with the theme “ASEAN A.C.T: Overcoming Common Challenges”. Emerge stronger than COVID-19 with inclusiveness, competitiveness, resilience, sustainability, and equity.
To achieve further progress under the pillars of the ASEAN Economic Community, the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, as the national representative for the ASEAN Economic Community, is hosting the 54th ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting (54th AEM) and Related Meetings on 11-18 September 2022 in Sokha Siem Reap Resort & Convention Center, Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The 54th AEM will take place on 14-15 September 2022, where Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia presided over the opening ceremony on 14 September 2022.
The 54th AEM and Related Meetings discussed progress on the integration of the ASEAN Economic Community, including but not limited to, progress on Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDS) under the ASEAN Chair Cambodia 2022, Post-Covid19 Economic Recovery, ASEAN External Economic Relations, Timor-Leste’s Request to ASEAN Membership and Multilateral and Regional Issues.
