DILI, 21 september 2022 (TATOLI)- Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed his appreciation from the people and the Government of Ukraine to Timor-Leste for the solidarity support given during the conflict the country faces with Russia.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister conveyed this at a bilateral meeting held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MFAC) of Timor-Leste, Adaljiza Magno at the Ukraine Mission office in New York, United States last monday (19/09).
“Foreign minister, Kuleba expressed his appreciation from the people and the government of Ukraine to Timor-Leste for its humanitarian assistance and solidarity related to the war in Ukraine,” Kuleba said in a statement issued on wednesday.
Dmytro Kuleba shared the current situation in Ukraine, saying that Timor-Leste should continue its campaign for peace and stability in all regions.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed how to support each other and continue to call for international attention to stop the war in Ukraine.
The two officials also raised multilateral and bilateral issues such as reconstruction and recovery strategies; adoption of ASEAN and Africa strategies and other relevant issues.
Before attending the opening of the General Debate session of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, in New York, on 20 September 2022, MNEK, Adaljiza Magno, and delegates on the same day also held bilateral meetings with various international institutions and representatives of countries.
The bilateral meeting was held with Csaba Korosi, President of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly; USAID Deputy Administrator, Isobel Coleman; Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darschiasvili.
Adaljiza also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon; Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donica Gërvalla Schwarz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Paraguay, César Arriola Ramírez.
